Do You Revere the Lord?

(Psalm 5:7) “But, I by Your great mercy will come into Your house; in reverence will I bow down toward Your holy temple.”

What is your relationship with the Lord really like? Be honest with yourself; because the Lord knows the truth anyway. Is your relationship with God one that is a “give me” one; you come to His house of Worship, His holy temple, but do you truly worship at His holy altar. Are you constantly asking for things or do you once in a while just come into His presence just to worship Him and appreciate Him, to love on Him? We were made in His image, so the feelings and emotions that we have and the need to be loved, appreciated and praised; God needs as well; after all our emotions came from Him. (Genesis 1:26) “Let Us make man in Our image, in Our likeness.”

You have problems and some severe and we need to pray to God and ask for His help, He wants that, but we need to come to in confidence in who we are, His child and ask once, then come each morning and thank Him because you already know He is working on the answer to your prayer. (Hebrews 10:35) “So do not throw away your confidence, it will be richly rewarded.” You do not need to beg Him, He is your heavenly Father who loves you so much, He sent Jesus Christ to pay the price for your sins. We should never doubt His love. (Matthew 6:33) “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.”

God values your faith; your faith can move mountains. (Matthew 21:21-22) “Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” God wants to bless you and prosper you but if you constantly come to Him only asking and never giving, it becomes a one-sided relationship making it all about you and that puts the focus on you and not Him where it belongs. (Isaiah 42:8) “I am the Lord; that is My name! I will not give My glory to another or My praise to idols.”

You will see the more you just love Him and worship Him, the quicker your problems and prayers will be answered. God resides in the praises of His people. (Psalm 22:3) “But you are holy, O you that inhabit the praises of Israel.” You will see that the more you reverence the Lord, the more you appreciate Him and worship Him, the closer you will get to Him in your relationship with Him. When you spend quality time with God, reading His Word, praising Him, talking to Him, praying for your needs and that of your loved ones, others and the nation, the more you thank Him, the more you get know Him. When you truly know Him and His love, the more you will trust Him and you will have less worry, anxiety, bitterness and stress. Peace and the joy of the Lord will fill your heart.

You will become more like Him; loving, patient, humble, selfless, forgiving, generous, peaceful and joyful. The problems you are experiencing, God will provide answers to; (Proverbs 3:5-6) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

You will see the answer to your prayers is not in a “give me” relationship; it is in one of reverence and awe of God and who He is and what He has already done and continually does for you. The answer to your prayers is in your praise.

(Psalm 44:3) “For by their own sword they did not possess the land, And their own arm did not save them, But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence, For You favored them.”
