Leave It Alone; Let God Handle It

In this world, you will face trouble, and there will be people who misuse their free will; others get hurt as a result.

God promises justice.

(Romans 12:17-19)

“Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.  If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.  Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.”

(Psalm 89:14)

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face.”

The Bible says, you reap what you sow.  So, acting in anger and vengeance will only grow bitterness and resentment in your heart.

In the story of Esther, you read that the King replaced Queen Vashti and brought in young women from the land.  They were made ready, and it took 12 months.  Esther was chosen as Queen.

Haman, due to family history, hated the Jews. When he found out that Mordecai, Esther’s uncle, who raised her after her parents' death, was a Jew, he vowed to annihilate them when Mordecai would not bow to him.

He came to the King and told him the Jews laws were different than his, and they do not keep his laws, and advised destroying them.  The King agreed and sealed it with his signet ring. When that is done, it is law and no turning back.

Mordecai found out and asked Esther to go before the King on their behalf.  She was hesitant because going before the king when you are not called could get you killed.  She called a fast for 3 days.  Afterward, she agreed.

In the meantime, Mordecai had previously discovered a plot by a couple of the King’s men, and he told Esther, who made it known, and it was recorded in their chronicles.  So, one night, the King could not sleep and decided to read the chronicles and discovered what Mordecai had done and that he had not been honored.

Haman, all full of himself, decided to erect gallows to kill Mordecai. But after the King found out about what Mordecai had done to save his life, he called Haman in to ask him how to

honor him.  The King did not mention who he wanted to honor, and in all Haman’s arrogance, told him to put one of the King's robes on the man and ride him through the streets on one of his horses and declare his honor. The King liked it and told Haman to go and do that for Mordecai.

Haman was crushed.  Then, after Esther takes courage and goes before the King and asks for a banquet for just the King, herself, and Haman, Haman’s hopes were up again.

Esther revealed who she was on the second day of the banquet and what Haman planned. The King ordered that Haman be hanged on the gallows he built for Mordecai.  He permitted the Jews to defend themselves and gave Haman’s house to Mordecai.

On the day the original decree was to take place, the Jews fought and won, and to this day they celebrate and call it Purim. God gave them victory; so, leave it alone, let it go, and trust God.  Give it to Him, Psalm 68:19 “Praise the Lord who daily bears our burdens.”

Esther and the Jews fasted and prayed and left the plot to kill them in God’s hands.  She obeyed with courage even while afraid.  They were permitted to defend themselves, and Mordecai was justified.  The evil Haman plotted against Mordecai, and the Jews came back to him.

(Obadiah 1:15)

“For the day of the LORD upon all the nations is near; As you have done, it shall be done to you; Your reprisal shall return upon your own head.”

Leave it alone, place it in God’s hands, and He will take care of it much better than you can, and you will not have the root of bitterness, anger, and vengeance in your heart.

(Exodus 14:13-14)

“Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.  The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
