Broken Pots

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” (II Corinthians 4:7) NIV

Everyone will experience hard times, disappointments, offenses and oppression, heartaches, and more.  These leave us broken, sometimes hopeless and afraid, other times angry and anxious.

The things that happen to us that leave our hearts broken become opportunities for blessings if we go through them with the right attitude, remembering the overwhelming love of the Lord, what He did and continues to do for us. This is an attitude of trust and confidence in the Lord, knowing He will work it out for our good and turn the messes in our lives into a message so others can be blessed, the broken places in our hearts become vessels of the Lord’s glory and love.  As the Lord heals us and we learn, we can in turn help others going through the same things.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

These places that leave cracks in our hearts become openings and areas, where the Lord’s light and glory can shine through us to others, and we grow spiritually as well as our faith as a result, going from glory to glory.  The more cracks that took place are more places for God’s light to shine through us to others once we are healed!

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”                                (II Corinthians 3:18)

When we go through these times with an attitude of trust, and believing in God’s overwhelming, unconditional, never-ending love for us, then as we face trying times, and times that leave us broken, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that if God is allowing this, it will be for our good and to be used as an opportunity to use these situations to in turn, bless someone else going through something similar.  Since we have been there, learned from it, and have overcome it, we can encourage others.

(II Corinthians 1:3-7)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.”

In the process, we grow spiritually and trust God more and become more in awe of Him that He should use US, to help others.  We give Him all the glory, honor, and praise to be able to be His heart, hands, feet, and voice to those who are lost and hurting; it is truly humbling.

Me- ex: abuse thru drug & alcohol, the effect it had on me—invisible, worthless, not valued, what it did to my kids, the loss of 16 yr old son, the emotional effects of oldest son, & thru it He found and saved me, and showed me WHO I am in Him, His princess, gave me a passion to show other who they are in Christ, not what past, others and Satan try to make you believe about yourself.  You are Royalty through Christ, valued, loved, forgiven, PRICELESS.   Then He wanted to use me through the many books He has given me to write and have published, podcast, and messages preached, & people He places in my everyday life, to be a vessel of His love which He so abundantly poured into my heart to overflow through all the cracks to others.  It is truly humbling, and I ask why me, Lord, but I say yes, an overwhelming yes!

His light of love will shine through the cracks in your heart if you love, trust, and are patient with Him and His healing process.

As a result, from trial to trial, we learn to inquire of God, what are you trying to teach me in this trial, instead of complaining? We grow spiritually more and more and truly become His light to a broken world.

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
