"And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” (Luke 2:49)
I have been seeing a lot of information lately on social media about a red river in one place and another in another place, but I have not seen any on the news.
I have also seen a lot of preachers preaching sermons of fear regarding the end times. I get that they may be geared toward unbelievers to choose to surrender to the Lord before it is too late, but as children of God, do not give in to that fear and anxiety about the end times.
The end will come, but fear not, it will be a time of rejoicing when it does come, but do not be anxious about it. Do not be overwhelmed, but be patient and expectant while continuing the call and purpose God has for you. There are still people out there who need the Lord. We are all tired of the evil in the world, but as our main verse says, we need to be about our Father's business.
Jesus was made in flesh so He could understand our weaknesses, and He was tempted but did not sin, and He stayed focused.
When the disciples and the crowd vied for His attention, when He needed to depart and spend some alone time with God, He did not get overwhelmed, but when He needed to, He sent the crowd away.
We can do the same thing, take captive every thought that comes into our mind and trash the ones that breed negativity, worry, fear, and doubt.
"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." (II Corinthians 10:5)
Read the word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your spirit and judge the time.
"Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality." (I Corinthians 15:51-53)
At the last trumpet call, we will be changed, the rapture. Has that happened yet? Let's look at some verses in the Book of Revelation and see. The first one has not happened yet, if it did, it would be all over the news.
"The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up." (Revelation 8:7)
That is the first, and I Corinthians 15:15-53 says that at the last trumpet, we are going home.
So, has the first one happened?
This is similar to the 7th plague that happened in Egypt in Exodus 9:18-26
"Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause very heavy hail to rain down, such as has not been in Egypt since its founding until now. Therefore, send now and gather your livestock and all that you have in the field, for the hail shall come down on every man and every animal which is found in the field and is not brought home; and they shall die.” ’ ”
He who feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his livestock flee to the houses. But he who did not regard the word of the Lord left his servants and his livestock in the field. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt—on man, on beast, and on every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.” And Moses stretched out his rod toward heaven; and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire darted to the ground. And the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt. So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, so very heavy that there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. And the hail struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail struck every herb of the field and broke every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail."
Note the last part of verse 26, children of God, fear not! God will protect you, He again says it in (Psalm 91:9-11)
"Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways."
Verses 8-13 deal with the 2nd through the 4th. The 5th and 6th are in Revelation 9. Then in Revelation 11, the Two Witnesses come onto the scene. Have they come yet? No, you would hear about it. Then, after them, the last, the 7th Trumpet sounds.
"Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, 'The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15)
Be joyful, and expectant that we are getting closer, closer than ever before, but keep doing the Father's business, people need us. Just like the 10 virgins parable. Keep oil in our lamps and our lamps burning by staying focused on God and being about His business.
“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps." (Matthew 25:1-4)
Be like the 5 wise, keep your lamps burning. Stay joyful at what is coming, but stay focused on the Father's business.
