We Are The Trail Of Light That Comes From Jesus Christ

(Matthew 5:14-16) “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

Light travels very rapidly; in a vacuum, the speed of light is 186,282 miles per second (or nearly 300,000 kilometers per second), which is extremely fast! Remember the next time you watch a beautiful sunrise or sunset that it actually occurred eight minutes earlier—it takes that long for the light to reach the Earth! A light year is the distance light travels in one year at the speed of 186,282 miles per second, which is about 5.8 trillion miles. In most practical cases, light can be thought of as moving instantaneously, but for long distances and very sensitive measurements the finite speed of light has noticeable effects. In communicating with distant space probes, it can take minutes to hours for the message to get from Earth to the spacecraft and back. The light we see from stars left them many years ago and yet we are seeing them presently! Light travels and leaves a trail of light behind for us to see.

We are the trail of Jesus’ light. Jesus came to earth to free us from the bondage of sin and its results and judgments. He was born to the world to become sin for all of us. (II Corinthians 5:21) “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” Jesus suffered, died and rose again that to all who would believe in Him and ask for forgiveness of sin and receive Him into their hearts would be saved. (Romans 10:9-10) “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

Upon receiving Jesus into your heart you are filled with the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 3:16-17) “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” You are then changed, renewed, born again! (II Corinthians 13:14) “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” At conversion (when you receive Jesus) we are indwelt with the Spirit of Jesus. (Galatians 4:6-7) “Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.’ So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.” Thus, being “born again.” (John 3:3) “I tell you the truth; no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

We are made alive with Christ in this. (Ephesians 2:4-5) “But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved.” Therefore, the light of Jesus shines in our hearts and should shine through us in everything we do and say. (II Corinthians 4:6) “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”

What was once hard to understand about the Bible and God now becomes clear to you and you have a new understanding, love and passion for God and to do His will. In Christ there is no darkness; His light shines brightly in your heart and through you as well. You will not need to say, “I am a Christian;” people will know by the trail of the Lord’s light you leave behind.

(Psalm 139:11-12) “If I say, ‘surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,’ even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.”

Jesus is the light of the world; in Him there is no darkness; has He lit up your life yet? If not, He is just a prayer away. (John 8:12) “When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” If you are born again you should reflect His glory. Do you? Do you leave a trail of His light behind?

In this season, won’t you allow the Holy Spirit to fill your heart and light up your soul? Will you surrender? We are NOT promised tomorrow. Do you want to take the chance of missing out on eternal life?

It is so easy, no formal prayer, just believe that Jesus is the Son of God and He died for your sins. Repent for your all your sins, and receive, ask Him into your heart.
