Jesus Lives To Intercede: His Unconditional Love

“Therefore, He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25)

Numbers 2 describes the order of the 12 tribes of Israel and how they were to be positioned around the Tabernacle.  God has a purpose for everything He does, and it is or will work out for our good.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

 You can trust in the One who provided for our eternal salvation, the One who loves us, loved us when He created us, and loved us when He died for us, that what we go through and what He allows will be for a purpose and to work out for our good.

“And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.” (I John 2:2)

Numbers 2 also describes the Levites and Aaron and His sons as Priests.  The Levites were chosen because when the rest of the Israelites were impatient with Moses and the length of time he took at the top of the mountain receiving the Ten Commandments, they decided to build a golden calf.  Something worshiped by the Egyptians, and the very people they cried and cried out to God to deliver them from!

To drive that stupidity in deeper, it was something they made!  How can something YOU MAKE, or anything manmade, be stronger than you? Hello??

The Lord and Moses grew angry, and their unfaithfulness was especially after they were all a part of a grand miracle, the parting of the Red Sea!

Not only that, Aaron, Moses’ brother, was his second in command, and he did nothing.   He did not stop or try to stop them. Have you been there? God is understanding; ask for forgiveness and help to do what He wants you to do. He will help you!

Yet, Moses interceded on behalf of the Israelites and Aaron when they built and worshipped the golden calf.

God forgave Aaron and still chose to use him and his sons in the calling He had on their lives to be priests.

“So, I turned and came down from the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire; and the two tablets of the covenant were in my two hands. And I looked, and behold, you had sinned against the Lord your God—had made for yourselves a molded calf! You had turned aside quickly from the way which the Lord had commanded you. Then I took the two tablets and threw them out of my two hands and broke them before your eyes. And I fell down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all your sin which you committed in doing wickedly in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger. For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure with which the Lord was angry with you, to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me at that time also. And the Lord was very angry with Aaron and would have destroyed him; so, I prayed for Aaron also at the same time. Then I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burned it with fire and crushed it and ground it very small, until it was as fine as dust; and I threw its dust into the brook that descended from the mountain.”

God had reason to be angry, but His love compelled His forgiveness.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Have you messed up royally, sinned, and do not think God will forgive you?  If He chose not to forgive us, then there would be no one in heaven!  The word says that all flesh is weak, and it also provides for forgiveness.  You just have to be sincere, humble yourself, and ask! 

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:7-9)

We make it harder than it has to be, and Satan wants you to feel ashamed, unworthy, and as if you have to earn God’s forgiveness. That is a lie, because mankind was sinning against God so greatly that if it were left up to us earning it, no one would receive salvation.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

It is solely by grace, through faith, and God’s unconditional, overwhelming, never-ending love for us.  So, go ahead and ask!  “Ask, and you shall receive.”

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
